Saturday, November 15 – Pond & Creek Cleanup
Our community pond is a shared space, but not everyone treats it with neighborly respect. The pond frequently fills with garbage – especially recyclables that blow out of bins on recycle days and end up. The creek fills up with garbage dumped by residents in their storm drains. That’s right. Storm drain water is not treated, Lakewood’s drains are released directly into the Alsplaugh branch of Mountain Creek, directly north of our pond bridge. On November 15th, we hope to have as many neighborhood volunteers as possible to help clean up both. Lunch will be provided!
